Yesterday's Visitors

 

The geese are always feeding in front of my house but I seldom have this close of a visit from the heron. The heron is usually further down the lakeshore.

 

 

Something in the water must have caught the heron's eye because suddenly it stretch it's neck out to full length. I didn't see it catch anything though.

 

 

I do wish the close up picture of the heron's head were clearer but I am still working on taking close-up pictures.

Hardy Dandelion Puff

I spotted this dandelion puff on yesterday morning before I left for school.

I know I felt the chilly air - I wonder what the dandelion was thinking.

Beautiful blue-purple blooms still blooming.

Not sure what they are though.

These two sculptures are titles "Breathe Out" and "Breathe In"

and are made from terra cotta.

Last of the Halloween Photos

 

This house used to be Christ the King Catholic Church in Old Lyme.

The Church built a new building a few years ago about a 1/4 of a mile down the road.

 

 

I wonder if the mummies came alive on Halloween night to haunt the trick or treaters? 

 

Scarecrows

 

 

 

 

Some not so scary scarecrows outside the school where I teach,

 Mile Creek School. Each class created their own scarecrow and collected the various accoutrements then after school the kids, parents and teachers built the scarecrows.

 

 

The scarecrows have been guarding the bus circle since the end of September.

So fun to see the kids making sure their class' scarecrow is still standing when they get off the bus each morning and then out there with the class fixing the scarecrow.
